The J-1 Exchange Visitor program, administered by the U.S. Department of State (DOS), was created by the United States Congress as part of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961. The purpose of this act “is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.”
Missouri S&T has hosted hundreds of visiting scholars over the years. These visitors have been essential to our successful research efforts, and they have enriched the academic environment of our campus.
International Enrollment is always available to assist academic departments who wish to invite qualified visiting scholars to Missouri S&T.
