In order for the Office of International Enrollment to issue you an I-20/DS-2019 from Missouri S&T, you must provide a financial statement that demonstrates you have sufficient funds to cover living and educational expenses for full-time study. You will be required to provide a financial statement to meet the required I-20/DS-2019 cost of attendance for a minimum nine-month period, as listed here. The total amount listed for each degree type includes educational fees, room and board, books and supplies, personal needs, and health insurance. Please note that health insurance is mandatory for all international students, and your admission to Missouri S&T is contingent upon your purchase of this mandatory insurance policy. Note that financial statements are not required as part of the S&T application process, but upon admission you must submit the financial statement to be issued your I-20 or DS-2019 which is required to apply for a F-1 or J-1 student visa.
In order for International Enrollement to issue your immigration documents you must upload the following documents to your application status page:
Once your documents are uploaded to your application status page and verified by International Enrollment, your I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued.
Multiple financial documents can be submitted to combine for a total balance equal to the estimated cost of attendance.

Investment accounts and provident funds may be accepted. The financial institution should sign the financial institution certification form and provide an account statement that specifies how much is available in liquid funds.
Sponsored students are on full scholarship from their home government, company, or other sponsoring organization. For their I-20 or DS-2019 to be issued, we require a financial guarantee letter from the sponsor which includes the following information:
Financial guarantee letters should be sent to Sponsored Student Services at iasss@mst.edu. If sponsored students or sponsors have any questions about the financial guarantee, please use the email just mentioned.
Affidavit of support can be done in 2 ways:
1. Complete the financial verification form.
Note: For those not using personal funds, page 2 of the form must be completed and signed by your sponsor.
OR
2. A notarized affidavit of support
Note: The affidavit must include your sponsor name, the length of time and amount of funding of his/her support for your academic program. Also include the relationship between the financial supporter and yourself (for example: uncle, brother, family friend). Please note that the length of time must be worded as “for the duration of his/her studies” (and not a specific length such as one year). This affidavit must be signed by your sponsor(s) and notarized.
Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 years old are considered dependents of F-1 or J-1 students. They can be admitted to the United States in F-2/J-2 non-immigrant status.
