Fall 2020 COVID-19 Check-In Process

All new international students must self-quarantine before coming to campus, therefore, the Fall 2020 student check-in process will be conducted virtually. Please follow the instructions below to check-in with International Affairs as soon as possible after your arrival to Rolla:

1. Self quarantine before coming to campus: 
If you are arriving from an international location, you must self-quarantine for 14 days, and if you are arriving from a U.S. location, you must self-quarantine for 7 daysPlease do not come to campus until you have completed your quarantine period.

2. Email immigration documents to International Affairs:
Once you have arrived in Rolla, please send an email to with a scanned copy of your 1) passport ID page, 2) visa, and 3) signed I-20/DS-2019. If you have dependents, please provide the same documents for each dependent. Upon receipt of your email, you will receive additional instructions for completing the check-in process.

If you are traveling from an international location and have not done so already, please send an email to with your travel plans.   You will receive a response with more detailed guidance for your arrival in the Rolla community and the Missouri S&T campus.

Keep in mind; you can arrive in the United States up to 30 days prior to the program start date listed on your I-20 or DS-2019.

New International Student Orientation provides students the opportunity to:

  • Meet the International Affairs staff, campus administrators, faculty members, and other S&T students.
  • Learn more about living in Rolla and student life on campus.
  • Learn about valuable resources on campus and in the community to help adjust to life at S&T and be a successful student.

If needed, submit final official transcripts to the Office of the Registrar in 103 Parker Hall. 

English language proficiency testing is required for students who have not satisfied the Missouri S&T English language proficiency requirements.

First-time freshman students: 

Register for classes during Pro Day.

Transfer students: 

Register for classes during Transfer Advising Day.

Graduate students: 

Visit your academic department and meet with your academic advisor before registering for classes.

After you meet with your academic advisor, you will be able to register for classes online through Joe' S.S. Joe' SS Student Training is available here.  If you have questions about registration or waitlisted courses, please visit the Registrar's Office in 103 Parker Hall. Please note you will need to visit the Registrar’s Office to add, edit, or drop courses after the start of the semester.

Students who register for classes after the start of the semester will be assessed a late registration fee. Students who feel they should not be charged a late registration fee may file a Fee Adjustment Appeal.

Intensive English Program students: 

Register for classes during Intensive English Program orientation, on the first day of the semester.

International students must purchase mandatory health insurance. After registering for academic classes, your student account will automatically be charged the health insurance fee. You will be able to review and make payments to your bill online through Joe'SS.

 Students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) will purchase and enroll mandatory health insurance during IEP orientation.

New student medical information is available through Student Health Services. To submit your information, visit the Student Health Portal and use your Missouri S&T username and password.
