Health Insurance

International students must purchase mandatory health insurance. This includes all F-1 and J-1 visa students. J-1 visa students whose spouse and/or children are living in the United States are required to carry health insurance for their dependents that meet the requirements of the U.S. State Department.

An independent insurance carrier administers the policy selected by the University of Missouri system. Your admission to Missouri S&T is contingent upon your purchase of this mandatory insurance policy. The insurance advisor in the Office of International and Cultural Affairs will enroll you in this plan automatically and provide assistance as needed during your time at Missouri S&T. Insurance premiums will be charged to your student account at the beginning of each enrollment period:

  • August 1 – December 31
  • January 1 – July 31
