Missouri S&T has hosted hundreds of visiting scholars over the years. These visitors have been essential to our successful research efforts, and they have enriched the academic environment of our campus. The Office of International and Cultural Affairs (OICA) is always available to assist academic departments who wish to invite qualified visiting scholars to Missouri S&T.
The J-1 Exchange Visitor program, administered by the U.S. Department of State (DOS), was created by the United States Congress as part of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961. The purpose of this act “is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.” Participants in the J-1 Exchange Visitor program and their academic departments are encouraged to visit the U.S. Department of State website to read more about this program.
The Office of International & Cultural Affairs (OICA) is here to help academic departments invite talented individuals to Missouri S&T! Click on the button below to initiate the process for bringing visiting scholars to our campus. It is recommended to start the application process one semester in advance of the proposed program for the scholar in order to allow time for processing.
