A comprehensive medical insurance plan is selected on an annual basis by the UM System to provide coverage to Missouri S&T international students and scholars. All F-1, J-1 visa holders are required to purchase the plan.

LOCKTON COMPANIES

• Lockton Companies is the insurance broker which works with the Univeristy of Missouri System to select insurance plans. On April 7, 2004 Lockton Companies participated in an international student insurance workshop and question and answer session. STUDENT ASSURANCE SERVICES

• The Chickering Group, an Aetna company, is the insurance administrator for the international student and scholar plan. Please refer to their homepage for information related to coverage and your claims: The Chickering Group, or telephone Chickering toll free at 1.877.375.7905.

AETNA NETWORK

• The Aetna Network is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). Medical providers have contracted with the Aetna Network to provide services at a discounted rate. By going to medical providers contracted with this network, students can receive services at a discounted rate. Also, the insurance plan will cover the benefits at a higher percentage. J-1 SCHOLARS AND THEIR J-2 DEPENDENTS

• J-1 Scholars are required to be enrolled in the UM System insurance plan from the first day of their program participation until the last day of program participation. STUDY ABROAD STUDENTS

• All Missouri S&T students visiting international study abroad institutions and students from international partner institutions studying at Missouri S&T are required to be enrolled in the UM System study abroad blanket student accident and sickness insurance plan.
