A distance student at Missouri S&T is a student who:

  • takes Missouri S&T classes via the Internet, CD/ROM, videotape or other electronic means from an off-campus location, including outside of the United States, and is not physically present on campus. The information on the International Affairs website does not pertain to these students, whether they are domestic or international.

Please go to Missouri S&T's Distance and Continuing Education website for information on distance students.

*Example of a non-international student who comes from abroad to study at Missouri S&T:

Thuy was born in the United States to Vietnamese parents studying abroad, but moved to Viet Nam as a young child where she has lived for the better part of her life. She now wants to return to the United States for her undergraduate studies. She is NOT considered an international student because she is a U.S. citizen, having been born in the United States, and does not qualify for the Office of International Affairs programs. Thuy’s admission criteria would be the same as a domestic student applying to Missouri S&T.
