Graduate Student Checklist

For new international students who wish to enroll in Missouri University of Science and Technology, please follow this checklist for step-by-step instructions.

  • Submit your online application
    • For detailed application instructions for international graduate students, please click here.
  • Pay $75 application fee
  • Submit self-reported GRE or GMAT scores
  • Submit self-reported TOEFL and IELTS scores
  • Upload elctronic transcripts from any post-secondary school you may have attended
  • Upload resume/cv
  • Upload statement of purpose, including educational plans
  • Enter names and email addresses for three recommenders
  • Check application status
  • Office of Admissions will notify you by email when an admission decision has been reached
  • Submit official GRE or GMAT scores
    • Institution code is 6876.
  • Request transcripts to be sent from each post-secondary school you attended:

  • Submit official TOEFL and IELTS scores
    • Request ETS submit official TOELF score – institutional code is 6876.
    • Request IELTS submit official score – mail to Office of Admissions.
  • All inquiries for assistantships should be sent to your academic department
  • Submit your financial statement to ia@mast.edu
    • If you are a sponsored student on full scholarship from your home government, company, or other sponsoring organization, please send an email to iasss@mst.edu for assistance in obtaining your financial guarantee.
  • Your International Advisor will review your financial statement and contact you when your I-20 or DS-2019 has been issued
  • Arrange for shipment of your immigration documents through eShipGlobal’s University Express Mail Service (UEMS)
  • Your immigration documents will be mailed to you, in addition to your admission letter and welcome packet from Missouri S&T
  • Make an appointment for your student visa after receiving your immigration documents
  • Review new student medical requirements
  • Plan to arrive in Rolla, Missouri before January 8, 2018, for New International Student Orientation
  • Check-in with the Office of International and Cultural Affairs (OICA) in 103 Norwood Hall, or attend New International Student Orientation
    • Bring your passport, visa, and original I-20 or DS-2019.
  • Attend New International Student Orientation on January 8, 2018, in Havener Center
  • Complete English language proficiency testing on January 9, 2018
    • If you were admitted to S&T based on your academic record, but have not provided proof of meeting the English language proficiency requirement, you must complete English language proficiency testing, administered by the Intensive English Program (IEP) staff.
    • If you have met the English language requirement, this testing is not required.
  • Register for classes
    • Make an appointment with your academic advisor in order to register for classes.
    • Contact your academic department if you need an academic advisor assigned.
  • Purchase required health insurance
    • After you register for classes, your student account will automatically be charged the health insurance fee.
  • Submit health forms to Missouri S&T Student Health Services
    • Forms may be submitted to the Student Health Services booth at the International Miners Fair on International Student Orientation day, or you may submit the forms directly to Student Health Services at 910 West 10th Street, Rolla, MO 65409 USA.
  • Activate your Missouri S&T email address
  • Attend the Winter Welcome Social on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Havener Center
  • Start classes on January 16, 2018 – first day of Spring Semester 2018
